In our legislative meetings we have discussed the fact that the lawful state government name was changed to North-Carolina American Republic
Back at the time when it was reestablished. We feel that the name of THE STATE of NORTH CAROLINA under the constitution of 1776 is what was chosen by the Freemen of North Carolina when this government was established and is exactly how it should be called now. The name change in 1997 was for diferentation between the two governments. The defacto is what was placed over us at bayonet point and this fact should not stop us from using the proper name of our government so
we will begin switching over our flyers etc. as we go forward. THE STATE OF NORTH CAROLINA (1776).
